Responsibilities

  • ● Meeting with clients and other involved professionals at an early stage to agree on the project brief
  • ● Developing project briefs and working on these as the project progresses
  • ● Preparing design proposals using computer-aided design (CAD) and traditional drawing methods
  • ● Contributing to planning applications and other regulatory application procedures
  • ● Understanding how the design aspects of a construction project influence and relate to performance and functional issues, so that practical questions can be addressed at an early stage
  • ● Following up with the detailed design process and coordinating design information
  • ● Liaising with appropriate authorities (e.g. planning enquiries and technical officers) to obtain statutory approval
  • ● Coordinating and liaising with the various consultants on the project team
  • ● Advising clients on procuring the best and most appropriate contracts for the work they are undertaking
  • ● Leading the preparation of tender documentation and construction drawings
  • ● Assisting in administering contracts and project certifications
  • ● Obtaining feedback on work in progress and finished results from clients
  • ● Making site visits to check on progress and ensuring that the project is running within the agreed timescale
  • ● Solving problems that might occur during building or construction stage
  • ● Carrying out defect inspections
  • ● Managing the work of junior staff or direct reports

Requirements

  • ● Minimum 10 years experience in the architectural industry in Singapore or Malaysia
  • ● Able to work within a team and in a fast-paced environment
  • ● Familiar with building regulations (Singapore or Malaysia)
  • ● Strong portfolio
