About the Company
A Federal Government Department is seeking a Vulnerability Management Specialist to support the ongoing enhancement of its Security Operations Centre and Cyber Threat & Vulnerability capability. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a critical cyber security function within a highly secure government environment.
Responsibilities
- ● Managing and optimising vulnerability management platforms, scanners, dashboards, and associated security tooling.
- ● Conducting vulnerability assessments and analysing findings from vulnerability scans, threat intelligence, and security reviews.
- ● Driving remediation activities by working closely with system owners, infrastructure teams, and technical stakeholders.
- ● Investigating emerging vulnerabilities, exploits, and cyber threats to assess potential impacts and risks.
- ● Developing reports, dashboards, playbooks, and metrics to support risk-based security decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- ● Demonstrated experience in cyber security vulnerability management, vulnerability assessment, or security operations within complex enterprise environments.
- ● Hands-on experience administering and optimising vulnerability management platforms such as Tenable, Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management, Qualys or similar technologies.
- ● Strong understanding of vulnerability lifecycle management, including identification, validation, prioritisation, remediation, and risk acceptance processes.
- ● Experience analysing vulnerability data and providing risk-based recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.
- ● Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders and influence remediation outcomes within secure or highly regulated environments
