NYK Bulkship (Asia) Pte. Ltd. was established in 1975 and is wholly-owned by NYK Line headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. Main activity is to own and operate vessels of international trade, as well as to develop businesses around energy transportation and supply chain solutions, including, but not limited to, the transportation of LNG, hydrogen and its derivatives, as well as the management of captured CO2. We also provide shipping and sales services related to NYK Line.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and expansion of business opportunities for NYK Group's Energy Division in Singapore and Asia/Oceania region.
  • Represent NYK Group's Energy Division and cultivate strong business relationships with both existing and prospective clients in Singapore and Asia/Oceania region.
  • Support engagement with external and internal stakeholders and coordinate each project.
  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to NYK Group's local staff in countries in Asia/Oceania region, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment to achieve business objectives.
  • Collect and analyze intelligence on energy policies and situations in Asia/Oceania region, and regularly report findings to relevant stakeholders including NYK Group's managers and NYK Line Tokyo HQ.
  • Fulfill any additional or ad hoc duties as required to meet the evolving needs of the business.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Law, Economics, Political Science, International Relations, Maritime Studies, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in vessel operations, chartering, and commercial ship management, including tanker and LNG shipping operations.
  • Strong experience in negotiating LNG vessel time charter agreements, ship management contracts, and shipbuilding contracts.
  • Sound understanding of the LNG supply chain and related commercial activities.
  • Knowledge and practical experience in ship financing, investment evaluation, and cashflow analysis.
  • Proven experience managing vessel tender processes or maritime projects, including LNG carrier projects.
  • Familiarity with marine insurance practices and risk management principles.
  • Basic understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles.
  • Proficiency in both English and Japanese language, with a proficiency level equivalent to JPLT N1 of the Japanese proficiency test in listening, speaking, reading and writing.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in shipping industries, including minimum 5 years in commercial LNG shipping.

Benefits

  • Salary: S 11,000 to S 22,000 depending on experience.
  • Permanent role.
  • Working days: Monday to Friday, with flexibility to work on weekends when required for travel needs.
  • Working hours: 9.00am - 5.30pm.
