About the Company
Westpac Institutional Banking is the institutional banking arm of Westpac Banking Corporation, operating globally with a Singapore branch that oversees the franchise across Asia. Responsibilities
- ● Manage alerts related to Politically Exposed Persons, Counter Terrorism Financing, adverse media, sanctions and custom lists.
- ● Investigate and assess alerts raised within the enterprise wide compliance programme to identify potential money laundering or terrorism financing activities.
- ● Investigate high risk customer profiles, determine risk levels and escalates findings according to process and procedures.
- ● Coordinate closely with the Front Office, Financial Crime Compliance Team, Sanctions Officer Group, WIB Specialist Team and Operations Teams to ensure seamless communication and consistency.
- ● Perform alerts review and escalation to the Financial Crime Compliance Manager while meeting alert processing SLAs.
- ● Ensure quality and accuracy of investigations in line with global policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
- ● Participate in non core tasks such as management information reporting, system testing, policy and procedure enhancements, and ad hoc projects assigned by the manager.
- ● Collaborate with various stakeholders to support the overall transaction monitoring function.
Requirements
- ● 2-3 years of experience in transaction monitoring.
- ● Good knowledge of anti money laundering legislation and regulation.
- ● Strong understanding of transaction monitoring, including name screening and funds flow across trade finance, financial markets, commodities, corporate and institutional banking.
- ● Banking industry knowledge in operations.
- ● Experience working with Asian markets, particularly Singapore.
- ● ACAMS certification or International Compliance Association diploma is an advantage.
