Responsibilities
- ● The Production Planning Lead is responsible for leading production planning activities to ensure effective execution of production schedules within the Sales & Operations Execution horizon.
- ● The role is accountable for coordinating production order release, detailed scheduling, material availability and production execution to support customer delivery commitments, schedule adherence and operational performance.
- ● The role leads a team of Production Planners and collaborates closely with Manufacturing, Master Scheduling, Materials Planning, Procurement, Engineering, Quality, Logistics, Program Management and other cross-functional teams to resolve production constraints, optimize execution and improve operational performance.
- ● The Production Planning Lead serves as the primary interface between Master Scheduling and Manufacturing, ensuring executable production plans while driving continuous improvement, planning capability development, and operational excellence.
- ● Lead, coach and develop the Production Planning team to achieve production, delivery, inventory, schedule adherence and operational performance objectives.
- ● Manage execution of production schedules and ensure timely release of production orders based on material availability, manufacturing capacity and customer priorities.
- ● Coordinate cross-functional planning and execution activities with Manufacturing, Master Scheduling, Materials Planning, Procurement, Engineering, Quality, Logistics and Program Management to resolve production constraints and support customer commitments.
- ● Monitor production planning performance through key operational metrics, including schedule adherence, production order release, aged WIP, and on-time delivery, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions where required.
- ● Lead escalation management and recovery planning for material shortages, capacity constraints, production disruptions and other risks impacting manufacturing performance and customer delivery.
- ● Drive daily operational reviews, Tier meetings and production planning governance by communicating priorities, execution risks, and recovery plans to stakeholders.
- ● Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production planning processes, schedule stability, operational efficiency, and planning capability.
- ● Ensure compliance with company policies, production planning governance, quality standards, EH&S requirements and audit expectations.
- ● Provide functional leadership for Production Planning across the site by driving planning transformation, APS optimization, digitalization, organizational capability development, succession planning and cross-functional initiatives that improve manufacturing execution and operational performance.
- ● Represent the Production Planning function in site operational reviews, Program Management Team, Sales & Operations Execution forums, and other leadership meetings, as appropriate to the role level and organizational structure.
