Responsibilities
- ● Source and procure marine equipment, spare parts, consumables, and services in line with operational requirements.
- ● Evaluate supplier quotations, negotiate pricing and terms, and ensure timely delivery.
- ● Maintain and update approved vendor lists and build strong supplier relationships.
- ● Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with agent / warehouse/ crewing to ensure stock availability.
- ● Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- ● Prepare quotation evaluation, purchase orders, track shipments, and resolve delivery issues or discrepancies.
- ● Collaborate with technical and operations teams to ensure get updated on the vessel schedule and arrange for timely delivery.
- ● Conduct market research to identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative suppliers.
- ● Respond promptly to urgent orders or servicing needs, demonstrating high alertness and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively to minimize operational downtime.
Requirements
- ● Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Maritime Studies, or related field.
- ● Minimum 2-3 years of purchasing experience, preferably in the marine or shipping industry.
- ● Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- ● Familiarity with marine equipment and technical specifications is an advantage.
- ● Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement software (e.g., SAGE or similar).
- ● Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- ● Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia (if know Chinese will be added advantage)
- ● Knowledge of Incoterms and international shipping practices.
- ● Detail-oriented with a strong sense of urgency and accountability.
