Responsibilities

  • Support the Business Controller in accounting, financial reporting, forecasting and overall business control activities.
  • Prepare monthly journal entries and perform reconciliation and review of key Balance Sheet accounts.
  • Prepare and analyse monthly Selling & Administrative (S&A) reports for management and department heads.
  • Monitor S&A expenses, identify variances against budgets and forecasts, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Support the annual budget and periodic forecasting processes, including preparation and analysis of management and operational KPI reports.
  • Develop and monitor S&A forecasts against budget targets, highlighting potential risks and opportunities.
  • Conduct credit assessments for new and existing customers, including financial performance analysis and recommendations on credit terms and limits.
  • Monitor outstanding accounts and identify potential delinquency risks, recommending appropriate follow-up actions.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of effective credit control measures.
  • Ensure accounting practices and internal controls are aligned with established financial policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with the Accounts Department, internal and external auditors, internal control teams and business operations on finance-related matters.
  • Coordinate audit queries and requests, including consolidating findings and following up with relevant stakeholders.
  • Participate in financial system implementation and interface projects, including coordination across different teams.
  • Support operational teams on finance and administrative matters, including COE bidding and insurance-related requirements.
  • Review employee overtime and transport claims, monitor monthly mobile phone expenses and highlight unusual items for further review.
  • Oversee general administrative matters such as stationery and pantry procurement, as well as staff welfare and recreational activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, or a recognized professional accounting qualification / finalist.
  • 4 - 6 years of relevant accounting and finance experience, preferably gained in an MNC environment.
  • Prior experience in external or internal audit will be advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, analysis and forecasting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Familiarity with SAP accounting systems is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across different functions.
  • Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
