Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and non-routine microbiological, chemical, and physical testing on raw materials, in-process samples, finished product, water and environmental samples accurately, safely, and within the required turnaround time, in accordance with applicable GMP, GLP, and laboratory safety requirements
  • Prepare samples, culture media, reagents, solutions, and laboratory materials required for testing
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records for all submitted samples, including compilation, analysis, evaluation, and preparation of test reports
  • Follow laboratory quality control procedures, policies, and documentation requirements, including instrument calibration, procedural calibration, verification, and maintenance activities
  • Identify and report any issues that may adversely affect test performance or the accuracy and reliability of test results
  • Participate in relevant training and competency programmes, including ISO/IEC 17025 training, proficiency testing, and inter-laboratory/ring tests, to meet laboratory compliance requirements
  • Manage and maintain the sample retention room, ensuring proper identification, storage, traceability, and disposal of retained samples
  • Maintain good housekeeping and ensure the laboratory, equipment, and work areas are kept clean, safe, and organized
  • Report any out of specification, abnormal or unusual results to the supervisor immediately
  • Monitor lab consumables, reagents, media & supplies and inform supervisor when replenishment is required

Requirements

  • ITE Diploma / Nitec / Higher Nitec in Chemistry or related discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in laboratory testing and documentation
  • Able to follow SOP and testing method accurately
  • Able to commit to work on every alternate Saturday (8am to 12 noon)
  • Follow applicable food safety, quality, safety, hygiene, and regulatory requirements
