Responsibilities

  • Manage global logistic roll outs to meet project schedule and cost targets.
  • Publish, maintain and enforce the vendor route guide.
  • Conduct root cause and corrective action as required.
  • Inspect and audit project sites and warehouses for readiness and compliance to Apple requirements.
  • Conduct freight cost audit and payment.
  • Conduct benchmarking activities.
  • Develop cost estimates and forecasts.
  • Develop operational plans to support pilots and project roll outs from a small group of stores to the entire fleet.
  • Create project scope documents to be used in the Logistics bidding process.
  • Onboard new vendors for logistics.
  • Develop and enforce standards, guidelines and policies for packaging, documentation, communications, reporting, etc.
  • Develop and track key operational and financial metrics.
  • Conduct performance and cost analyses.
  • Perform periodic carrier reviews for past performance and future engagements.
  • Conduct RFP/RFQ activities to support projects and ongoing operations.
  • Select and manage carriers' performance to set goals and objectives.
  • Administer carrier contracts and rate agreements.
  • Review material vendor agreements for best practices in incoterms, logistics.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions for special projects.
  • Develop support systems to streamline logistics operations.
  • Interface with internal Apple teams such as Sourcing & Innovation, Development, Global Trade Compliance, Finance, Preservation, other Retail and Corporate groups.
  • Interface with external parties such as carriers, customs brokers, material vendors.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years logistics or trade compliance industry experience.
  • BS/BA degree in supply chain, logistics, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • Technical competence: Multi-modal, domestic/international/local transportation; Warehouse operations; Understanding of incoterms, HTS, DG, export/import requirements.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, cross functional/collaborative, and analytical skills.
  • Strong Project Management experience required.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% and support teams in multiple time-zones.
