Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze regional and global oil product markets, including supply-demand balances, refinery operations, inventories, arbitrage flows, and physical market developments.
  • Analyze market structures, including physical differentials, time spreads, cracks, and forward curves, and identify key market drivers and trading opportunities.
  • Prepare daily and ad hoc market reports, price analysis, and market commentary to support trading and hedging decisions.
  • Assist Traders in the execution of physical and derivatives transactions, including swaps, futures, and other approved hedging instruments.
  • Maintain market data, pricing models, and analytical tools to support trading activities and market analysis.
  • Work closely with Traders, Risk, Operations, and Finance teams to ensure accurate trade capture, timely settlement, and effective risk management.
  • Reconcile executed derivatives trades with broker and clearing statements on a daily basis.
  • Monitor margin requirements, margin calls, and clearing account balances to ensure sufficient funding and efficient cash utilization.
  • Support process improvements, market research, and other trading-related projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Good understanding of global oil markets, commodity trading, pricing mechanisms, and derivatives products.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Python, VBA, or data analysis tools is an advantage.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced trading environment effectively.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written Chinese is required to communicate effectively with Chinese-speaking stakeholders.
