Responsibilities

  • Atturra are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to work closely with the Finance Business Partner to provide accurate and timely financial information for Atturra's Business Unit.
  • The role is focused on supporting month-end processes, budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, compliance reporting, and preparing analysis that assists the FBP in delivering insights to management and supporting decision-making. Initially the role will support Canberra-based practices within Cloud Business Solutions, Advisory, and Industry Engagement business units, including assisting onboarding from Xero to Atturra Business Systems (ABS) being SuiteProjects and Netsuite.
  • The role will also support General Managers with financial analysis and review from time to time.
  • Manage the month-end close process, including preparation/review of journal entries, reconciliations, and accounting records to ensure accuracy of financial reports
  • Prepare monthly profit and loss statements and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensure accuracy of project transactions and records, including review of work in progress (WIP)/Deferred Revenue each month
  • Assist in preparing monthly forecast updates and with the FBP to compile required data
  • Analyse actual results versus forecast and budget, providing variance commentary
  • Perform intercompany reconciliations
  • Cashflow Forecasting
  • Prepare monthly EGM reporting pack.
  • Support monthly financial reviews with the FBP and Executive General Manager by explaining variances and key drivers of performance
  • Assist in preparation of forecasts and budgets
  • Partner with project managers to review project bookings and movements.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
  • Support half yearly and full year external audit requirements
  • Maintain effective financial controls and procedures.
  • Support data and system migration projects
  • Identify and implement process improvements
  • Document and maintain financial procedures
  • Support team members on new systems and processes.

  • Strong technical accounting skills and understanding of accounting standards.

Requirements

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Professional accounting qualification (CA/CPA) or working towards.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in financial accounting roles
