Responsibilities

  • Partner with Senior Field Service Engineers to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade customer equipment.
  • Utilize digital diagnostic and analytics tools to identify and resolve equipment issues.
  • Apply fundamental diagnostic techniques to evaluate equipment performance and support technical problem solving under guidance.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on sophisticated systems, including electrical, mechanical, vacuum, plasma, hydraulic, and gas delivery systems.
  • Communicate and coordinate directly with customers to ensure high levels of equipment performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in cross functional projects and initiatives that support business and organizational goals.
  • Adhere to all safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related Science discipline.
  • Business level Japanese language proficiency (JLPT N2 or above).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in customer facing environments while complying with Applied Materials' and customer safety requirements and operating procedures.
  • 1-3 years of experience in field service, customer support, equipment maintenance, semiconductor manufacturing, or a related technical field.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and system schematics.
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving technical equipment issues.
  • Basic knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum technology, and thermodynamics.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and test equipment, including digital multimeters.
  • Strong problem solving skills with a hands on approach to technical challenges.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team oriented and customer focused environment.
