Responsibilities

  • Oversee the execution of shipments in line with contractual agreements for dry bulk commodities such as coal, iron ore, bauxite, copper concentrate, and lithium.
  • Review contracts of sales and purchases post-trade confirmation to verify shipment details, including timing, commodity brand, and payment terms.
  • Coordinate vessel nominations and collaborate with load and discharge port agents to ensure smooth operations.
  • Manage the drafting and issuance of Letters of Credit, liaising with banks and customers throughout the process.
  • Verify compliance of Letters of Credit and shipping documents with agreements, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Monitor cash flow related to receivables and payables, ensuring transactions are processed within set timelines.
  • Track and report shipment status and maintain accurate records of quality and quantity upon loading.
  • Support the Front Office in contract review to minimize risk exposure and ensure adherence to internal policies.
  • Collaborate with diverse departments to identify and resolve financial risks and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to internal control procedures.
  • Assist in any additional tasks that relate to Trade Operations as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum Diploma in Business or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a dry bulk commodities role, with a focus on metals preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Letters of Credit and UCP600, as well as familiarity with bulk shipping terms and practices.
  • Proficient understanding of commercial contractual terms, associated risks, and obligations.
  • Understanding of International Metals Trade processes, including procedures for trade finance documents and risk management practices.
  • Familiarity with the commodities market's common facilities and functionalities, including insurances and compliance with import duties and VAT.
  • Proficiency in SAP financial modules and other commodities trading systems.
