JOB TITLE: SAP Data Migration Lead JOB LOCATION: Melbourne, VIC (Hybrid) JOB DURATION: until end of December (potential extension) We are seeking an experienced SAP Data Migration Lead to join a large-scale SAP transformation program. This role will lead end-to-end data migration and integration activities, working across business and technology teams to ensure high-quality, accurate, and compliant data is successfully migrated into SAP environments. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on experience in SAP data migration, ETL, data cleansing, transformation, field-level mapping, SQL, and SAP master data governance, with a proven track record of delivering complex SAP ECC and S/4HANA transformation programs.

Responsibilities

  • ● Lead end-to-end data migration and integration activities into SAP, including data extraction, cleansing, mapping, transformation, and loading.
  • ● Develop and validate field-level data mapping rules between legacy systems and SAP target structures.
  • ● Support SAP S/4HANA transformation programs across functional areas including Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics, and Materials Management (MM).
  • ● Assess current data ecosystems and work with business teams to determine data readiness for migration.
  • ● Collaborate with business, IT, offshore teams, solution architects, and functional SMEs to deliver migration activities.
  • ● Monitor data quality, investigate discrepancies, and coordinate defect resolution.
  • ● Manage mock conversions, migration testing, defect resolution, and cutover readiness for SAP deployments.
  • ● Work with SAP data migration and governance tools including LSMW, SAP Migration Cockpit (LTMC/LTMOM), SAP Data Services, and SAP MDG workflows.
  • ● Apply SAP global data standards, naming conventions, governance policies, and data quality practices.
  • ● Maintain and enhance SAP MDG governance models, workflows, validation rules, and derivations.
  • ● Perform data quality checks using relevant data quality tools.
  • ● Monitor key master data KPIs, including completeness, duplicates, attribute compliance, and change cycle times.
  • ● Provide clear documentation, presentations, and communication to both technical and business stakeholders.
  • ● 10+ years of hands-on experience in ETL development, data extraction, transformation, cleansing, and loading within large-scale SAP programs.
  • ● Strong experience with data migration and field-level mapping between legacy systems and SAP ECC/S/4HANA.
  • ● Strong SQL skills, including complex multi-table joins, subqueries, inner/outer joins, data parsing, formatting, and performance tuning.
  • ● Proven experience designing and developing end-to-end data migration jobs.
  • ● Hands-on experience with SAP LSMW, Migration Cockpit (LTMC/LTMOM), SAP Data Services, and SAP MDG.
  • ● Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA transformation initiatives across Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics, and/or MM.
  • ● Strong understanding of data quality, data governance, master data, and migration readiness.
  • ● Excellent stakeholder management, communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
  • ● Experience working with global delivery models and distributed/offshore teams.
  • ● Strong consulting mindset with excellent problem-solving skills, ownership, adaptability, and the ability to work within fast-paced transformation programs.
  • ● Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or an equivalent discipline.
  • ● SAP BODS or BusinessObjects certification is advantageous.
