Fast-growing national business Over 200 stores and 2,000+ team members across Australia Head Office located in Sydney CBD We are looking for a motivated and proactive Payroll Officer to join our Payroll team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys payroll processing, resolving payroll queries, and supporting HR administration, while thriving in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
About the Role
End-to-end payroll processing on a fortnightly basis using Employment Hero (Paycat) Review and verify employee attendance records to ensure accuracy and compliance Managing employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, employee record maintenance and offboarding Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations and STP and Super lodgements Ensure accuracy and compliance in payroll processing and related documentation Partner with Finance, HR and Operational teams to resolve complex payroll matters Assisting with workers cover claims Manage the payroll inbox
Responsibilities

- ● Review and verify employee attendance records to ensure accuracy and compliance
- ● Managing employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, employee record maintenance and offboarding
- ● Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations and STP and Super lodgements
- ● Ensure accuracy and compliance in payroll processing and related documentation
- ● Partner with Finance, HR and Operational teams to resolve complex payroll matters
- ● Assisting with workers cover claims
- ● Manage the payroll inbox
Requirements
- ● Minimum 1 - 2 years of proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing
- ● Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- ● Experience using payroll systems (Employment Hero highly regarded)
- ● High attention to detail with excellent time management skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure
- ● Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislations, awards and EBAs
- ● Fast learner with the ability to adapt to new systems and processes
- ● Intermediate MS Excel skills
- ● Proficiency in Mandarin or Cantonese is advantageous
