About the Company

COX Architecture is a multidisciplinary Australian practice which integrates architecture, planning, urban design and interior design. We are unusual for a large multi-studio practice in that we work to a defined design ethos in all studios. This ethos is based upon principles of structure, craft, art and nature. We are currently searching for a Finance Officer to work within our Sydney studio.

About the Role

The Finance Officer will work closely with the Finance Manager to assist and provide support for the day-to-day accounting function of the Cox Sydney studio, including project administration, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Set-up of new project numbers, phases and variations.
  • Assist project leaders with project queries and reporting.
  • General ad-hoc duties as required.
  • Entry of supplier and sub-consultant invoices, employee expense claims and reconciliation of credit card and Uber statements. Ensuring relevant approvals are sought and all reimbursable expenses are recorded.
  • Supplier set-up and maintenance.
  • Preparation of fortnightly and ad hoc. payment files.
  • Supplier and sub-consultant reconciliation and liaison.
  • Completing paperwork for asset acquisitions and asset register maintenance.
  • Identification and entry of cash receipts from the bank statement.
  • Client set-up and maintenance.
  • Assist the Finance Manager with monthly invoicing and debt collection as required.
  • Timesheet assistance, follow up and posting in line with weekly and month end deadlines.
  • Leave balance reconciliation.

Requirements

  • Excellent communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in similar accounts focused role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with particular focus on Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Deltek advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and a willingness to learn.
  • Discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Bachelor in Accounting, Commerce or Business or relevant certificate III+
