About the Role

Rainbow Imports Pty Ltd is looking for an experienced and motivated Accounts Officer / Assistant Accountant to join our growing team in Wetherill Park. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of the day-to-day finance function within a fast-growing wholesale and e-commerce business. Working closely with management and our external accountants, you will be involved in all aspects of finance, from daily accounting operations through to month-end reporting and compliance. This position offers excellent exposure to all areas of accounting within a growing multi-state business and provides genuine opportunities for long-term career development.

Responsibilities

  • ● Process Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • ● Maintain accurate financial records in Xero
  • ● Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards and payment gateways
  • ● Process supplier payments and customer receipts
  • ● Process weekly and fortnightly payroll, superannuation and employee entitlements
  • ● Assist with maintaining accurate inventory-related financial records
  • ● Assist with month-end close procedures
  • ● Prepare monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports
  • ● Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts and monitor business cash position
  • ● Assist with budgeting and financial reporting
  • ● Reconcile inventory movements and investigate discrepancies where required
  • ● Prepare BAS, IAS and other ATO compliance requirements
  • ● Liaise with external accountants, auditors and tax advisors
  • ● Assist with end-of-year financial reporting and audit preparation
  • ● Review monthly payroll, staff reimbursements and expense claims for our overseas office
  • ● Support continuous improvement of financial processes and internal controls
  • ● Work closely with warehouse, operations and management teams
  • ● Provide financial and administrative support to management as required

Requirements

  • ● Minimum 3 years' experience in an Accounts Officer, Assistant Accountant or similar accounting role
  • ● Experience working in an SME environment
  • ● Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
  • ● Strong working knowledge of Xero and Microsoft Excel
  • ● Sound understanding of Australian accounting principles, payroll and GST/BAS requirements
  • ● Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • ● Strong organisational and time management skills
  • ● Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • ● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ● CPA/CA studies are advantageous but not essential
  • ● Mandarin speaking is preferred but not essential
