MECHANICAL FIELD SURVEYOR

Job Purpose To perform field surveys of mechanical equipment, collecting and validating equipment identification, technical and operational data from site. The role requires a sound practical understanding of rotating machinery, static equipment, valves and wellhead equipment, together with the ability to correctly identify equipment types, read TAG labels and nameplates, and recognize key equipment characteristics and components Main Responsibilities Conduct field surveys of mechanical equipment in oil & gas and industrial facilities, including rotating machinery, static equipment, valves and wellhead equipment. Identify equipment types and configurations in the field and distinguish between different equipment categories based on their operating principles and physical characteristics. Collect and verify equipment TAG numbers, nameplate data, manufacturer information, model/type, equipment characteristics and other relevant technical data. Read and interpret equipment nameplates, TAG labels, equipment markings, drawings and basic technical documentation. Identify and assess static equipment such as pressure vessels, storage tanks, heat exchangers and associated components, with particular attention to their construction and main technical characteristics.
