About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Adult Psychiatrist to join our team in Dubai. You will assess, diagnose and treat adults with a wide range of mental health conditions, delivering safe, evidence-based and patient-centred care. You will work alongside psychologists, therapists, nurses and social workers as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
- ● Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and diagnostic evaluations for adult patients
- ● Diagnose and manage conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, OCD, PTSD, ADHD and substance-related disorders
- ● Develop and review individual treatment plans, including medication management and monitoring
- ● Provide risk assessment, suicide-risk evaluation and crisis intervention, with referral to inpatient or emergency care when needed
- ● Collaborate with psychologists, therapists, primary care physicians and other specialists to coordinate care
- ● Educate and support patients and their families on diagnosis, treatment and recovery
- ● Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records in line with UAE health regulations and data protection requirements
- ● Take part in clinical governance, case reviews, quality improvement and supervision of junior staff
- ● Contribute to community awareness and mental health education programmes
Requirements
- ● Medical degree (MBBS, MD or equivalent) from a recognised institution
- ● Specialist qualification or board certification in Psychiatry (or equivalent)
- ● A minimum of 3 years of post-specialty experience in adult psychiatry
- ● A valid DHA (Dubai Health Authority) license, or eligibility to obtain one before starting
- ● Strong skills in diagnosis, psychopharmacology, risk assessment and clinical documentation
- ● Excellent communication in English. Arabic is a strong advantage.
- ● Cultural sensitivity, empathy and sound ethical judgement
