Resident Geologist (Powerhouse)

The company delivers multidisciplinary services spanning design, project management, and construction supervision across infrastructure, buildings, and mission-critical facilities.<br><br>Location: Pahang, Malaysia<br><br>Project: Hydropower (700MW)<br><br>Company: Confidential (International Engineering & Consulting Firm)<br><br><br><br><br>OVERVIEW:<br><br>We are seeking an experienced Resident Geologist to support geological supervision activities associated with powerhouse foundations, underground structures, and major civil infrastructure within a hydropower project.<br><br>The successful candidate will provide geological expertise related to excavation, rock conditions, foundation performance, and construction risks.geotechnical risks.<br><br><br><br><br>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES<br><br> * Monitor geological conditions affecting powerhouse construction.<br> * Review excavation observations and geological records.<br> * Assess rock mass quality and foundation conditions.<br> * Support evaluation of foundation treatment and stabilization measures.<br> * Coordinate with civil and geotechnical teams.<br> * Participate in inspections and site investigations.<br> * Identify geological risks and recommend mitigation measures.<br> * Prepare technical reports and geological assessments.<br><br><br><br><br>REQUIREMENTS<br><br> * Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geological Engineering, or related disciplines.<br> * Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.<br> * Experience in hydropower projects, underground structures, industrial facilities, or large infrastructure projects.<br> * Strong understanding of geological mapping and rock mechanics.<br> * Experience working on construction sites.<br><br><br><br><br>Preferred Experience<br><br> * Underground Powerhouse<br> * Surface Powerhouse<br> * Cavern Excavation<br> * Foundation Assessment<br> * Rock Mass Classification<br> * Geological Mapping<br> * Ground Investigation<br> * Geotechnical Works<br> * Hydropower Projects
