About the Company

Brodeen Engineering is a Multi-Disciplinary Engineering Contractor delivering mechanical scopes throughout Ireland and Europe. Our headquarters are based in Tipperary Town. Due to increased organic growth, we are looking for an experienced Mechanical Estimator. The Estimator will be responsible for delivering accurate, competitive and commercially sound cost estimates for fabrication, mechanical and piping projects. This role supports business growth by securing profitable work through effective tendering and bid management.

Responsibilities

  • ● Review tender documentation, specifications, drawings and client requirements.
  • ● Develop detailed cost estimates covering labour, materials, plant, subcontractors and overheads.
  • ● Liaise with engineering, fabrication and project management teams to ensure estimates are accurate and achievable.
  • ● Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
  • ● Identify project risks, opportunities and value engineering solutions.
  • ● Present tender reviews and recommendations to senior management.
  • ● Maintain estimating databases, cost histories and benchmark information.
  • ● Attend client meetings, site visits and tender interviews as required.
  • ● Support contract negotiations and project handovers following successful bids, where required.
  • ● Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating procedures and commercial practices.

Requirements

  • ● Level 8 Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • ● Minimum 5 years' estimating experience within mechanical, piping, fabrication or engineering projects.
  • ● Strong understanding of commercial contracts and procurement processes.
  • ● Membership of a relevant professional body (SCSI, RICS, CIOB, Engineers Ireland) is desirable.
