About the Company

The SAP S/4HANA EWM & TM Consultant will serve as the business-side functional advisor for the implementation. The System Integrator will own solution build, configuration, technical delivery, and deployment. The consultant will independently validate the proposed design, ensure alignment with business requirements, SAP standards, leading practices, controls, and operational needs, and support business readiness through UAT, data migration, cutover, go-live, and hypercare.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and validate requirements for inbound, outbound, internal warehouse, yard, and transportation processes.
  • Review and challenge the System Integrator's EWM and TM design, ensuring traceability to approved requirements, business outcomes, controls, and SAP standard capabilities.
  • Identify unnecessary customization, process complexity, control gaps, integration risks, and operational impacts; recommend practical remediation.
  • Validate key EWM processes, including warehouse structure, putaway, picking, replenishment, physical inventory, handling units, waves, RF, yard activities, and exceptions.
  • Validate key TM processes, including transportation demand, freight units, planning, freight orders or bookings, carrier selection, tendering, execution, charges, and settlement.
  • Review end-to-end integration with sales, procurement, inventory, manufacturing, finance, carriers, and external logistics systems.
  • Facilitate design workshops, maintain findings and decisions, and support business process owners in approving the solution.
  • Review test scenarios, scripts, data, and expected results to confirm coverage of requirements, controls, exceptions, and end-to-end processes.
  • Support business users during system integration testing and UAT through preparation, execution coordination, issue triage, retesting, progress reporting, and sign-off.
  • Confirm that defects are appropriately classified, resolved by the System Integrator, retested, and accepted by the relevant business owner.
  • Coach key users on SAP Fiori, SAP GUI or RF transactions, business controls, and operating procedures.
  • Coordinate with the System Integrator and data owners to identify required EWM and TM master, transactional, and opening-balance data.
  • Support data profiling, cleansing, enrichment, mapping, and migration-file preparation; assess migration templates and approach for completeness.
  • Define business validation and reconciliation controls covering record counts, quantities, stock values, status, units of measure, and key relationships.
  • Review mock and production load results, coordinate exception resolution, and obtain documented business validation and sign-off.
  • Review the System Integrator's cutover plan and confirm business activities, dependencies, owners, timing, acceptance criteria, and contingencies.
  • Support mock cutovers and readiness checks covering open transactions, inventory freeze and reconciliation, master data, rates, interfaces, jobs, output, and user access.
  • Coordinate business cutover activities, monitor System Integrator completion, escalate risks, and validate critical processes for go-live acceptance.
  • During hypercare, prioritize business issues, validate fixes, monitor stability, and support transition to business-as-usual support.
  • Report progress, risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions to project leadership.
  • Collaborate with business, System Integrator, integration, security, infrastructure, testing, and data teams.
  • Support training, work instructions, operating procedures, and knowledge transfer.
  • Promote SAP standard adoption and comply with project governance, change control, documentation, and quality requirements.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in supply chain, logistics, engineering, information systems, or a related discipline.
  • Hands-on SAP S/4HANA EWM and/or TM implementation experience, with strong knowledge of warehouse, transportation, master data, integration, and operational controls.
  • Experience acting as a business-side functional or design-assurance consultant across design validation, testing, UAT, migration, cutover, go-live, and hypercare.
  • Strong analytical, facilitation, documentation, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across business functions, implementation partners, and geographically distributed teams.
  • SAP certification in EWM, TM, or a related SAP supply chain solution.
  • Experience with embedded or decentralized EWM, Advanced Shipping and Receiving, RF/mobile processes, warehouse automation, or third-party logistics.
  • Knowledge of SAP Migration Cockpit, SAP Fiori, SAP Cloud ALM or Solution Manager, APIs, IDocs, middleware, carrier platforms, or warehouse control systems.
  • Experience in manufacturing, consumer goods, distribution, or another high-volume logistics environment.
  • Business-approved design aligned with requirements, SAP standards, leading practices, and controls.
  • Documented review findings, decisions, risks, and System Integrator remediation actions.
  • Adequate end-to-end testing, timely resolution and acceptance of critical defects, completed UAT, and prepared users.
  • Reconciled and approved migration results with no unresolved critical data issues.
  • Cutover readiness confirmed and critical EWM and TM processes accepted after deployment.
  • Stable hypercare and effective transition to business-as-usual support.
