About the Role

MinRes is seeking an experienced Senior Mining Engineer to join our Central Pilbara operation on an 8D6X roster. Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, you will lead daily mine planning and engineering execution across the Central Pilbara operation - spanning the Iron Valley and Lamb Creek mine sites - maintaining system discipline across short- and medium-term planning functions. You will own the 3-Month Mining Plan and 2-week mining plan, mine development, Blastmaster and Traffic Management designs, ensuring engineering deliverables are actionable for Mining and Production whilst protecting crusher throughput and grade delivery to port. This position commences on an 8D6X roster flying from Perth.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive engineering planning and design standards across the Central Pilbara operation, applying technical judgement and experience to lift consistency in mine plans, designs and schedules and continuously improve how they are delivered.
  • Own and assure the quality of the 3-Month Mining Plan (3MMP) and the 2-week mining plan, ensuring both are accurate, achievable and aligned across departments.
  • Own mine development plans and designs, and Blastmaster and Traffic Management designs, across the operation.
  • Oversee and sign off the daily, drill & blast and short-term engineering work produced by the engineering team.
  • Report weekly compliance to plan and prepare monthly compliance and planning performance reporting prior to Superintendent issue.
  • Assure production data accuracy and reconciliation, ensuring conclusions are clear, defensible and operationally relevant.
  • Manage key relationships with Technical Services, Mining Operations, Supply Chain Schedulers, Resource Development and Exploration, acting as the primary engineering interface, and escalate material engineering risks or planning variances impacting safety, compliance or crusher throughput.
  • Drive engineering continuous improvement, coach and mentor the engineering team, ensure all activities comply with site safety systems and MinRes policies, and uphold the Safe & Respectful Behaviours and Speak Up standards.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or relevant discipline
  • Extensive experience in a production mining engineering environment, including short- and medium-term mine planning
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop Mining Engineers and Engineers-in-Training to strengthen capability and professional standards
  • Proven planning discipline - structured approach to short- and medium-term mine planning, development and blast design, with strong reconciliation reporting skills
  • Proficient in Surpac or Vulcan and Alastri packages (or equivalent mine planning and design software); experience with Wenco and MineMarket advantageous
