We currently have a great opportunity for a hands-on and motivated Mine Engineer (Short-Term Planning) to join our Underground Mining team at Tropicana Gold Mine. Reporting to the Senior Mine Engineer (Short-Term Planning) and working within an inclusive team of engineers, this role is responsible for the delivery of underground mine plans and schedules in a safe and efficient manner, while applying industry best practice. This position is based at Tropicana Gold Mine on an 8/6 FIFO roster from either Perth or Kalgoorlie. Be an active safety leader in line with the company's values, policies, and procedures. Produce accurate and clear DMRs (Development Memorandum Registers) for approval by the Senior Specialist Mine Engineering. Produce Engineering Instructions (EIs). Design stopes and prepare Stope Notes. Develop weekly plans and schedules using Deswik OPS, ensuring compliance with three-month plan priorities. Ensure any risks to the plan are adequately communicated to all stakeholders. Identify improvement opportunities and implement and manage projects to drive continuous improvement. Liaise with the Short-Term Planning, Medium-Term Planning, Long-Term Planning, Geotechnical, Geology, Maintenance, Contractor, and Ventilation teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, with relevant industry experience.
  • Prior experience in underground mine planning is essential.
  • Proficiency in mine planning software, including Deswik, CAD, MDM, and Deswik OPS, is required.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Current Western Australian C-Class Driver's Licence.
