About the Role
We are seeking a capable and detail-focused Technician Environment to support the delivery of Boyne Smelters Limited (BSL) environmental monitoring and compliance programs. A significant component of this role involves emissions monitoring and stack testing activities across site, including the setup, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of specialist monitoring equipment. The role also supports environmental sampling programs covering air, noise and water monitoring, environmental data management and land management activities. This role combines field-based monitoring, laboratory activities, and environmental data management, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on work and analytical problem solving. Working across operational and non-operational areas of site, you will play an important role in helping BSL meet its environmental obligations while supporting continual improvement in environmental performance. Reporting to the Superintendent Environment & Hygiene and working within the Health, Safety and Environment team, you will Implement, maintain, and complete environmental monitoring and measurement programs to demonstrate compliance with environmental licence requirements Conduct routine emissions monitoring and stack testing of stacks and release points Collect environmental samples and monitor data for other environmental parameters such as noise, water and waste Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot specialist environmental monitoring equipment Maintain environmental monitoring equipment, including servicing, calibration, and routine maintenance activities Coordinate land management activities including inspections, weed management, feral animal control, and controlled burns within buffer zone areas Enter monitoring results, maintain environmental databases, and ensure information is accurately recorded Support environmental incident response activities and the close-out of corrective actions Review environmental monitoring re

- ● Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot specialist environmental monitoring equipment
- ● Maintain environmental monitoring equipment, including servicing, calibration, and routine maintenance activities
- ● Coordinate land management activities including inspections, weed management, feral animal control, and controlled burns within buffer zone areas
- ● Enter monitoring results, maintain environmental databases, and ensure information is accurately recorded
- ● Support environmental incident response activities and the close-out of corrective actions
- ● Review environmental monitoring results and contribute to continual improvement of monitoring systems and processes
Requirements
- ● Current unrestricted manual driver's licence
- ● Strong commitment to personal safety and the safety of others
- ● Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
- ● Experience working in industrial and outdoor environments managing hazards such as work at heights, heat, noise, and dust
- ● Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams
- ● Previous experience in stack testing, emissions monitoring, environmental monitoring, or a related technical field highly regarded (training can be provided for a motivated candidate with the right aptitude and attitude)
- ● An analytical mindset with the ability to accurately collect, validate and manage environmental data
- ● Strong practical aptitude and confidence working with sampling equipment, instrumentation, pumps, fittings, valves and mechanical systems
- ● Ability to troubleshoot monitoring equipment and resolve technical issues in the field
- ● Comfortable working both outdoors in operational environments and in an office environment managing data and records
- ● Strong organisational skills and ability to plan and execute work in accordance with schedules
