About the Role
Axya is seeking a Cybersecurity lead to protect our digital infrastructure, data, and AI-driven platforms from evolving cyber threats. You will design, implement, and monitor security measures to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our systems. Cybersecurity professionals in Canada typically develop, implement, and monitor security controls to prevent unauthorized access and attacks .
Responsibilities
- ● Monitor systems, networks, and applications for suspicious activity and security incidents
- ● Detect, investigate, and respond to cyber threats in real time
- ● Perform vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis
- ● Implement and maintain security tools (firewalls, SIEM, endpoint protection)
- ● Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures
- ● Conduct incident response and post-incident analysis
- ● Ensure compliance with Canadian regulations (e.g., PIPEDA) and industry standards
- ● Collaborate with engineering and product teams to embed security into Axya's platform
- ● Provide employee training on cybersecurity awareness and best practices
Requirements
- ● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
- ● 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or SOC environments
- ● Knowledge of:
- ● Network security, cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- ● SIEM tools, IDS/IPS systems
- ● Encryption, authentication, and access control
- ● Familiarity with scripting (Python, Bash) is a plus
- ● Certifications preferred: CISSP, CEH, Security+
- ● Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- ● Experience securing AI/ML platforms or SaaS environments
- ● Knowledge of API security and data pipelines
- ● Understanding of DevSecOps practices
- ● Reduce security incidents and response time
- ● Maintain compliance and audit readiness
- ● Strengthen Axya's security posture across products and infrastructure
