About the Role
We seek a highly skilled Application Engineer to provide advanced support for eDiscovery applications. This role involves complex problem-solving, SQL script development, comprehensive documentation, and mentoring of junior staff. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of IT systems, particularly in eDiscovery environments, with certifications in relevant eDiscovery applications and a strong background in application troubleshooting and SQL scripting. The role is 'hands-on' and will require an individual with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies. You will be expected to understand and adhere to best practices during planning and day-to-day execution of operations. The Application Engineer reports to the Operations Manager and is an Operations team member. Role And Responsibilities Advanced Support: Provide escalated support for eDiscovery applications such as Relativity and Brainspace. Address complex technical issues in collaboration with Systems, Storage, and Network Engineers. System Management: Enhance the security, reliability, and performance of applications through regular updates, vulnerability remediation, and ensuring system uptime. Perform upgrades and other maintenance tasks during scheduled maintenance windows following a change management process. Technology Oversight: Monitor and manage technology platforms including SQL, RabbitMQ, and Elastic, encompassing configuration, installation, and patching. SQL Development: Develop and implement SQL scripts for report generation and data manipulation within eDiscovery databases. Ticket Resolutions: Responding to ticket escalations, working tickets through resolution, regularly updating tickets with status, following ticket hand-off procedures, and escalating tickets to senior team members when required. Requirements
- ● Certifications: Relativity Certified Administrator (RCA) or equivalent experience.
- ● Education: Bachelor's degree in IT, or equivalent experience in a related field.
- ● Minimum of 5 years in IT or eDiscovery.
- ● Proficiency in SQL, with strong skills in creating dynamic queries using T-SQL.
- ● Strong working knowledge of PowerShell scripting.
- ● Skills in profiling and monitoring network, disk, SQL Server, and other infrastructure components.
- ● Practical understanding of information technology concepts, protocols, industry best practices and ITIL processes.
- ● Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
- ● Ability to work under minimal supervision and your own initiative.
- ● Ability to collaborate with other teams across multiple time zones and geographies.
- ● Occasionally working evenings or weekends as required for scheduled or emergency maintenance.
- ● Certifications: Relativity Infrastructure Specialist (RIS) certification or equivalent experience.
- ● Application Experience: Experience troubleshooting and maintaining Brainspace, Reveal, Nuix, LAW, or other eDiscovery platforms.
- ● System Troubleshooting: Proficiency in OS-level troubleshooting with Windows Server or Linux. Experience working with AWS public cloud infrastructure.
- ● Scripting Skills: Proficiency in Python, Ansible, Terraform or similar scripting and DevOps tools.
- ● Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
