About the Company

Alpine Business Consulting is a specialized team focused on repairing enterprise performance management and reporting systems. When companies invest in complex planning tools, the implementation often cuts corners, leaving finance teams with data that does not match and month end closes that take weeks. We step in to configure these systems properly or build new ones from the ground up. Our consultants bring actual experience to every project, ensuring that our clients have a single source of truth they can rely on every morning. We are currently supporting a major Hamburg-based logistics company that needs to overhaul its internal reporting structure. This client manages thousands of moving parts across global routes, and their current data flow is fragmented. The Data Reporting Assistant will help our team organize this information, ensuring that the final reports are accurate, documented, and easy for the logistics managers to use. This is a full time, permanent position that is fully remote, allowing you to work from your own environment while collaborating with a distributed team of experts.

About the Role

As a Data Reporting Assistant, you will support our senior consultants in cleaning and organizing data for our logistics client. Your primary objective is to contribute to a system that is transparent and predictable. You will not be expected to manage the entire implementation, but you will play a vital part in the groundwork that makes a system reliable. Because we operate as a fully remote firm, you will rely heavily on written communication and structured documentation to keep projects moving. This position is an entry level opportunity. We do not use client engagements as a training ground for junior staff to learn the basics at the client's expense. Instead, you will work alongside senior professionals who provide direct guidance, helping you understand how Oracle EPM, SAP BPC, and modern analytics stacks function in a real business context. The role is paid, and the compensation is competitive for the entry level market.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the initial data cleaning process to ensure that information from the logistics client is formatted correctly before it enters the reporting system.
  • Drafting and updating configuration guides and training manuals so that the client team can remain independent after our handover.
  • Testing reports to verify that the numbers match the source data and identifying any discrepancies for the senior consultants to review.
  • Updating internal tracking documents to keep the project on schedule and within the fixed price scope.
  • Building simple dashboards based on pre-defined requirements to help visualize logistics performance.
  • Participating in remote meetings to take technical notes and document decision logs.
  • Organizing data files and ensuring that version control is strictly maintained across the project.
  • A basic understanding of Microsoft Excel, including familiarity with common formulas and data formatting.
  • Strong writing skills, specifically the ability to explain a process clearly in a manual or guide.
  • A curious mindset and a willingness to ask questions when something in the data does not look right.
  • The ability to manage your own time in a fully remote setting without needing constant supervision.
  • An interest in how financial systems and business data work together to support large companies.
  • Previous experience with university projects or internships that required attention to detail and data entry.
  • A professional approach to communication, whether through email or written reports.
