About the Company
Role Description The Admissions Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Amsterdam, responsible for managing and supporting the admissions process for prospective pupils and their families. Day-to-day tasks include responding to enquiries, guiding families through application and enrolment steps, coordinating school visits and tours, and maintaining accurate admissions records and databases. The role involves liaising with academic and support staff to ensure a smooth transition for new pupils and clear communication of admissions decisions. The Admissions Officer will prepare and update admissions materials, support outreach and marketing activities related to admissions, and provide a welcoming, informative point of contact for the school's diverse international community. The British School of Amsterdam is an independent, co-educational, non-profit British international school for students aged 3 to 18. Located in the south of Amsterdam, the school is organised into Early Years, Junior, and Senior sections, serving around 1,100 pupils with dedicated leadership and staff teams. A whole-school leadership team and a comprehensive Support Department, including admissions, data management, finance, IT, facilities, catering, marketing, and HR, underpin the school's operations. The school offers a stimulating and caring environment that promotes academic excellence, personal confidence, global awareness, and a strong sense of responsibility. Staff members are valued as the school's greatest asset and are expected to work collaboratively to provide high-quality education and support for all pupils.
Requirements
- ● Admissions & Sales: Proven experience in admissions, customer relationship management (CRM), sales, or account management; experience in an educational setting is preferred.
- ● Tech-Savvy & Systems Focus: Hands-on experience using modern admissions platforms, CRMs, or pipeline management tools (e.g., OpenApply , HubSpot , Salesforce ) highly desirable; knowledge of ISAMS is advantageous.
- ● British Education System: Knowledge or understanding of the British educational system (preferred).
- ● Culture Fit: Identifies with the BSA values and demonstrates them in practice consistently.
- ● Language & Communication: Excellent level of English (native level written and verbal) with high emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills across a diverse range of stakeholders.
- ● Commercial Mindset: Proactive, target-driven, and sales-minded with a focus on lead conversion, customer service excellence, and pipeline tracking.
- ● Technical Agility: Strong computer skills across Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and modern digital/automated software; comfortable picking up new digital tools quickly.
- ● Organization & Adaptability: High-level organisation and time management skills, with a proven ability to multi-task, prioritise workload, and meet tight deadlines under pressure.
- ● Problem Solving & Discretion: Rigorous approach to problem-solving, discreet and sensitive to confidentiality, with strong conflict resolution skills.
