About the Role

A major Australian enterprise is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to lead a complex, multi-stream Cyber Defence program of work. This is ahands-on, technical delivery role sitting within a Cyber Defence function that is pushing into frontier AI-driven security capability. I need someone technical and able to do hands on project management with experience in complex environments. You'll be accountable for end-to-end delivery across design, build, integration, and enterprise rollout, working through evolving scope and ambiguity at pace.

Responsibilities

  • ● Own the Project Management Plan, schedule, budget, and financial tracking, ensuring alignment to internal guidelines
  • ● Ensure alignment to cyber security standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g. Essential 8 uplift)
  • ● Lead delivery of AI-driven vulnerability discovery, enabling teams to move fast through ambiguity and accelerate decision-making
  • ● Manage cyber security uplift programs with cross-domain dependencies across identity, infrastructure, applications, and vendor ecosystems
  • ● Translate AI-driven threat exposure into coordinated, cross-platform risk reduction strategies
  • ● Establish project governance (working groups, steering committees) and maintain accountability across all forums
  • ● Provide timely, clear communication to stakeholders on status, risks, issues, and dependencies
  • ● Proactively manage risks, issues, and dependencies, minimising organisational disruption from mitigation strategies

Requirements

  • ● Cyber expertise a MUST, ideally in Cyber Defence Programs
  • ● Proven delivery in high-ambiguity, evolving-scope environments
  • ● Experience in high-pressure delivery environments
  • ● Proven experience delivering programs with high organisational change impact.
  • ● Experience delivering large-scale cyber security programs focused on threat-driven delivery
  • ● Experience in enterprise environments with 10,000+ users
  • ● Experience delivering programs with high complexity and cross-platform engagement
  • ● Prior experience in logistics, retail, or critical infrastructure environments
  • ● Experience working within regulated cyber/security uplift programs
