Responsibilities

  • Position Description
  • The Senior BW Consultant will lead SAP BW strategy, architecture, implementation, and transformation initiatives for clients, ensuring business requirements are delivered efficiently and aligned with client objectives. This role is accountable for end-to-end solution design, development, and deployment, while building strong client relationships to understand and address data warehousing, reporting, and analytics needs.
  • The consultant will drive effort estimation, resource planning, and scope alignment, collaborating with stakeholders to define clear deliverables and milestones. Additionally, they will lead the design and deployment of SAP reporting and analytics solutions across multiple functional areas, while providing regular status updates to CGI and client program/project leadership.
  • The Senior BW Consultant is responsible for identifying and obtaining the data required to satisfy the requirements of a BW project and has expert level knowledge about the different flavors of BW (BW, BW on HANA, BW/4HANA; BDC). The scope of data involved may include SAP S/4 HANA, SAP ECC centric data, external legacy data or third party data.

  • Establish connections to BW source Systems
  • Activate standard Business Content
  • Develop the BW data architecture including design and specifications
  • Enhance the InfoProviders (ADSO, Composite Provider and Classic InfoProviders) as required based on the BW data architecture
  • Enhance the Queries as required based on the BW data architecture
  • Define Authorization profiles and access
  • Evaluate statistical performance and make recommendations for BASIS support to optimize settings where possible
  • Identify the data in source environments
  • Map the data to the BW environment
  • Identify data quality gaps
  • Develop the plan to close data quality gaps
  • Develop the required extraction programs, if necessary
  • Develop the associated interface programs, if necessary
  • Test all developed programs
  • Ensure integration testing of data from various sources
