• ● We are seeking a passionate and driven Geotechnical Engineer to join our high-performing technical team and play a critical role in supporting the safe, sustainable, and productive extraction of premium steelmaking coal.
• ● Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, this key role will see you:
• ● Maintain geotechnical oversight of underground operations and audit compliance with corporate standards and approved support designs.
• ● Design ground support and monitoring systems to support safe and productive mine operations.
• ● Conduct regular underground inspections to audit installed strata support and strata conditions to confirm the effectiveness in accordance with the approved support designs.
• ● Provide strategic advice to the Technical Services and Mining Operations departments on how to maximise the value of the operation.
• ● Advise management and operational staff on geotechnical issues.
• ● Manage the Strata Defect System and ensure compliance with the Geotechnical Operational Management System.
• ● Advise and assist engineers with recommendations on geotechnical and hydro-geological issues regarding mine design, planning and operations.
• ● Understand and comply with all legislative and company safety, health, environment, cost and production objectives, guidelines, procedures, and requirements relevant to the professional management of ground conditions.
• ● Provide mentoring and training to personnel with respect to strata support systems.
• ● Qualifications
• ● Tertiary degree in Geotechnical Engineering or similar discipline
• ● Proven underground coal experience within a Geotechnical Engineering role
